Not sure what you mean by this comment. I was simply stating the $396 price for a simple install of a system he provided them with was way off the mark. If you go back and read the whole conversation the OP said they were charging him that price because the pipes had to be tweaked and were 6 inches short. I was saying for that price they had better be building the thing from scratch with their own materials, and the price is still high. I've had systems fabbed and put on 2 trucks and a foxbody and none of them was over $300.

 

Rocketman........I'm not going to deny what you paid but I will state ....as I did in rebuttal to your previous comment..... if you believe one can fab complete from headers to exhaust tip a complete 'SS' exhaust sytem and done right of course for today's 5.0, for less than four hundred bucks and make a reasonable return, I simply don't believe it.

My comment was not made in arguing the Op's over payment of $396 to have a system installed, agreed that was too much.

 

Rocketman? LOL. We are talking about the OP's 06 V6 here, not a 2011 5.0. Do I believe the shop could have fabbed up a stainless dual exit system for $400? Absolutely. You can get 5 feet of stainless pipe for $65 from Borla, obviously the shop gets it for less. They couldn't do it using Borla mufflers and maybe not in the configuration he wants, but it could be done. Obviously the sarcasm from my earlier post didn't show and you seem to think I'm "nuts". At least we are in agreement that the install price is outrageous.

 

Back before i had my mustang i had an 1988 cutlass supreme class, my dad bought me the mufflers and we took it to a shop and they installed the mufflers and ran all new pipe, for i beleive 150 maybe less i cant remember. i would jsut call around and ask for prices you can probably find alot of small shops slow on buisness who will make you a deal
