Default Exhaust ripoff and help?

so i ordered the pypes dual exhaust kit for my v6 mustang and took it to an auto repair shop(maidas) and they tried to charge me 396.00 to install it... now i heard of the pypes having fitment issues but i dont think 396.00 is a fair price... they said that the pypes were 6 inches too short but when i measured them they were perfect size... what is your opinions? Do you think its a rip off?? Also does anyone know anywhere around the norfolk/ virginia beach where i can get them installed without being ripped off???

Yep, I think they are trying to rip you off!
There are a number of muffler shops in the area. Just start calling and get an estimate.

I got my pypes mid muffler exhaust installed for only $75 down here in Elizabeth City, NC... it took about an hour from the time the appointment was so if you can't find a place cheap enough there is an option... only about an hour from chesapeake

Ripoff for sure. Why are they charging nearly as much for the exhaust that you paid for? There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of price gouging.

Call the BBB and make a complaint. And the, also look up your state's trade agency and see if there is something you can do through the.

For $396 they could have fabbed up a completely custom system from scratch. If you can't find anything on your side of the water you can try Big Al's in Churchland. They put a complete dual exhaust system on my truck with a Magnaflow muffler for $250. I have taken my car up there a few times to fix some issues with the Pypes MM and they didn't even charge me, I just tipped the mechanic.

Norman Young Muffler & Auto... if you google it there is a phone number and they will price quote for you... it will be ballpark just because they have to see what they are working with... but like I said... mine was only $75 and that was a full cat-back exhaust
