BMW finishes 1st.
what happened to the all mighty Boss.
I watched that 1 hour infomercial about the Boss and the #1 point that they made was that it could handily beat the BMW on the road course.
well, i guess not.
we gotta start cheating or something.

i think they run multiple mustangs in these races.
driver or not, a win is a win.
and we did not win.
that means we lost.
all that talk all over the place about how bad the Boss is, and how it can beat down the BMW.
well we sure ate our words on this one.

In the middle of that article it says due to a self inflicted slow pit stop they dropped from going in to pit in 1st place and coming out of the pit in 11th.
BTW the Boss special that bragged about beating BMW was comparing street car to street car.

It's not fair to use the "Boss is faster than the BMW" statement in the context of Grand-Am racing. Grand-Am limits power, weight, RPM, etc. to equalize the cars so that many different manufacturers can compete. That's why an RX-8 or a Mustang can run with a Ferrari in the GT class of the Rolex series. Also, anyone with a lot of money that can drive a car can get a seat in that series... it's not like all the drivers are pros. The difference in drivers is definitely a big deal. Finally, there are some big name teams running BMWs and I have a hunch that the BMW platform is much more thoroughly developed than the Mustang is currently.
*Disclaimer: I have no specific knowledge of either of the two teams referred to here.

2nd place is actually pretty darn good, but after talking all that smack, losing to who you talked smack to really sucks big time.
it's like if you are BJ Penn and saying you are going to kick GSP's ****, and then you lose.
thats pretty embarrassing.
you can talk numbers and specs all you want, but come race day
when the green light drops, the BS stops.
I just think it is hilarious when this is the first thing they said on that speed channel show, the Boss can beat the BMW on the track.
and we did not.

I’m not sure what the fuss is about. This is road racing, so what, do any of you's know anyone that does it? Talking smack will ALWAYS get the better of you. I like the fact that Ford built a Boss and the Cobrajet, But Ford can't do anything after they sell the car, The people that buy a Boss or a Cobrajet have to have a race team, team leader, and a good driver, those things coupled with some luck is why good teams win and not so good teams finish 2nd. Coming into the pits in 1st and leaving the pits in 11th place has very little to do with the kind of car being driven.
