Default new hood and front bumper ?

Kinda slid of the ice a week ago and my hood and front bumper need replaced I got it appraised at an auto collision center and they said it would be about $2,054 to get it repainted and so on and re-stripped with blue 350 stripes.... so.. I was looking at different hoods and such and wondered if it would be cheaper to get an aftermarket hood and get it painted and re-stripped.. same for the front bumper more of a cowl or different in general and if it would be cheaper to go that route or after all is done if it would run more or about the same??

Thanks

Many people will recommend to go aftermarket for a custom look, for cost, and because many of the S197 Aluminum hoods have had issue with paint loss due to contamination from the factory. I cannot say from experience because I tend to keep things stock and have been fortunate not to have the paint issues...

Yep.

Go with an aftermarket hood and bumper. You can get an aluminum Saleen hood for 1800 if you don't want to go with fiberglass. And it'll still be cheaper.

Fiberglass will hold up to the elements. I've got one on mine and haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood). You'll need hood pins, though.

just make damn sure you don't have any damage to the frame or body of the car. New aftermarket stuff won't fit right if the car is crooked. Good luck! I'd roll with some custom stuff.
Trufiber hoods rock!

Yup. Frame is solid just the front bumper has two cracks and the plastic grille half of it snapped off. And the hood has 4 dents from mail boxes lol...

Also try Cervini hoods. They have good prices and there quality is top notch!
