I'm still trying to figure out what octane to run when I get my tune. Will start with 87 and work my way up the ladder and see what difference it makes. What's odd is that I've noticed gas stations around here sell either 92 or 93. I have to wonder if the places with 93 really have a different supply than the places with 92...

87 custom tune. I used to run the 89 custom tune, but decided to go back to the 87 custom tune, since I only felt minimal performance gain between the two. I feel more throttle response at lower RPMs w/ the 87 custom tune, which works better for me since I have a short commute to work and take all back roads. I was thinking of trying out the 91 octane tune during my mountain run in a couple of weeks, however the gas price increase may deter me from doing that.....Gas prices are getting ridiculous!!

I figured it this way...

93 is about .30 over 87 here, my typical fill up is about 13 gallons about every 5 to 6 days, so if I calculate that over a year it's 261 dollars difference from 87, for less then a dollar a day I can feel good about putting in a little better octane gas and enjoying my car with a bit more power, one of the cheaper performance mods :P

89 with tune but if she was my DD I'd CONSIDER going to the 87 custom tune. Most of the miles on her are highway cruising with the exception of those 120+ MPH sprints so 87 would be no big deal.

My favorite gas station went from 93 octane down to 91. They just lost a good customer. Had to find another with 93

93 w/Bamachips Race. Gas prices are pressuring me to put my 87 tune back in, but I'm not going down without a fight.
