Exclamation Trying to get my 05 v6 Mustang to give a great burnout

Hi there,

I actually have a couple of questions, and I hope I am posting in the right area, but here they are:

First off, I want to know what I can do to my 05 v6 stang to give it a great burnout when flooring from a dead stop. I have a BBK RAI, but I don't really see any difference. My price range is 300-500.

Secondly, where is the traction control button/option for the 2005 Mustang v6? I cannot find it.

Thirdly, what can anyone suggest for an extra dome light in the back of the 2005 v6 mustang? It does not have a light in the back, but simply one in the front.

Thanks,

Mastermmm

Your traction control should be on the center console (if car is equipped with it) right next to the emergency flashers...

And I am assuming your car is a manual? If not, its gonna be damn hard to do a burnout in an automatic without doing a brake stand haha.

And the CAI with a tune is what you want, not just a CAI. Tuner makes all the difference. And about the dome light, I don't really have a solution for that, except to add one yourself lol. And if you do, its just a simple wiring and mounting job.

1. CAI with TUNE
2. 4.10 gears (Auto) or 3.73 (Manual) with T-Lock differential

These 2 will allow you to burnout until your heart's content. My set up will do a burnout from standstill up through 30-35mph when it shifts to 3rd. No brake standing needed. Go with American Muscle/BAMA tuning. I can do a burnout with just 1/2" pressed on the gas.

I also must add that I still run the stock 215/65R16s so that answers a lot of it!!!

Brake torquing is easier...on the car and in general, than doing a burnout in a manual.

OP, just press on the brake, floor the gas.. Then let off the brake. Instant one tire fire.

Stock v6 will only 'peel' one wheel (passenger side). Hard to get a good burnout, unless as mentioned above, you do the t-loc and tune modifications.

There's no traction control button on '05 v6's.

+1 on both. Without the differential change, you'll be stuck in one wheel peel land. Sorry.

TCS doesn't come stock on v6 unless you had the optional ABS system from what I recall.

No so fast my friend. My '05 has a TCS button

But OP, stock 1-wheel burnouts are LAAAME. Get a t-lok installed in your 7.5 rear or install a 8.8 rear that comes with a posi. 2 burnouts ftw

Really? Wow, I had no idea that was actually easier on the trans and stuff... Interesting.

^ LOL mess up on a burnout in manual and you can fry your clutch. It can go bye bye real fast.
