I hate to say it but I doubt the engine has a "horsepower" limit. There's too much boost for sure on a stock engine, but after that it's all tuning. If you could make 600hp with 8psi, 0 knock and 11.5 afr. I'd do it all day long without rebuilding the engine.
The engine does. Thats why they are rated. The block is rated to around 1000 and internals are variable depending on alot of things.
8-10-12 psi won't blow the motor. Its the power the extra air and fuel makes that blows motors, along with detonation. Thats why Brenspeed was more concerned with the torque number.
Nice numbers! And don't be scared, I've been running 509whp since I was at 7,000 miles on the motor, I'm at 21,000 now. Just don't beat the **** out of the car and run a good tune from a reputable company and you'll be fine.

As tempting as it is, at this point I need to minimize the risk of losing the motor right now (saving for about the only thing more expensive than a built motor: a wedding). Besides, for my purposes the lower HP still more than meets my demand and I got the kit for less than the non-H.O. kit. I feel like I still have a deal
Thanks for all the input though everyone. Much appreciated.
