well. as i said im not necessarily mashing the pedal. but you say you don't have it anymore so maybe it is "breaking in" or something like that.

well this problem almost got me in trouble today.... i was pulling out of a parking lot aaannnnddd nothing. about 1-2 seconds of "lag" in which the RPMs slowly creep up and then BAM! regular acceleration. this is really starting to bother me.

your more than welcome to have the supercharger though.

Do always let the engine get to operating temps before you gun it. Especially since you are blown now. Gunning a cold engine is never a good thing.

As for why you feel the lag, my first guess is that your cold engine has the cylinder liners still in a slightly smaller diameter (until they expand to proper diameters at operating temps) and the more likely reason, your oil is not yet warm and not yet lubricating everything as well yet.

Another guess I have is your supercharger is pulled such that you are not getting significant boosts at low RPMs and you have to hit 2000rpms before the boost is big enough to give you your power you are looking at.

But definitely warm your engine you before you gun it. Until it is warmed up all the way, let it idle or if it is warm enough to drive, drive easy until you hit operating temps.

Another guess

Lil_Chef,

I'm Natasha with Ford Customer Service and I'll be helping Deysha on this forum. The previous posters had some great suggestions to reduce the lag. Since it is still occurring and seems to be quite concerning to you, I suggest you bring it into the dealer to make sure everything is functioning correctly. If you need additional assistance, please PM me your VIN, contact info, mileage, and dealer and I can try to assist.

Have you talked to Brenspeed? I would start there. My stock SC doesnt seem to really give any zip below 2k rpm, and the boost is lower (say 5-6 lbs). Now at 3k to 5k rpm you definitely know the SC is there and working! I don't ever let the SC kick in until the engine temp is well into the green on the gage! But I have never had any lag, even when cold! Keep chasing it till you find out what's going on. Good Luck, and let us know what you find out!

well, as i said earlier i am not really pushing the car, just regular acceleration.

my official new theory that i will be testing today, traction control! i don't really see the light coming on during these situations but it could really explain the situation. with the new amount of torque i have and cold (relatively slim) tires it probably doesn't take much for the system to kick in. this would also explain why the problem seems to fix itself after warming the entire car up.

here is to hoping!
