Is a 2010 Mustang GT Auto Preimuim a good buy still? (no this is not onegoal)
So, I'm in the market for an upgrade to my Mustang in a few months, as a 25th birthday present to myself. All this time, I've been super pressed on the 5.0 11. However, the prices for these are still very high in the DC metro area. Used 11 GT's are still going for about 29K-ish, which is still pretty high for the price.
However, I do like the 2010's just because of the updated body and also, because of the the nice interior. And the 4.6 is still a sweet sounding engine. It's just...down 100 hp. I WOULD do an 09 and older, but I really don't like the 2005-09 interior very much.
But, would it be worth it to get the 2010? I know it's down 100 hp less, but won't a tune and a CAI and gears make up for about half the difference? I have seen slightly used 2010 GT Premium's going around 21-23 K with only like 10,000 miles. I just love having a v8 Mustang, but besides racing (which I don't even really do anymore), is the 5.0 really THAT hard to pass up and worth saving up more for it? Idk, I'm just the type of guy who wants to use that extra money on stuff like investments and stocks or my house or something, that's why I'm in a dilemma.
Oh and also, I'm in the market for a automatic because I live in the DC area and my current Mustang kills me with it's stick.
But yeah, opinions appreciated...esp 2010 and 2011 GT owners. Thanks!!!

I personally think anytime a new design of a vehicle comes out u should always wait atleast until the second or third year its been on the market. Plus if ur not really into racing then what makes the difference. I think u will need more than just gears and cai to make up half of what your seeking when comparing to the 5.0. You get the 10 and then slap supercharger on there with gears and be making more hp to the wheels than a 5.0 and still be money ahead

I say go for the 2010. Especially with the dirt cheap prices on them, to me it seems like a no brainer. At the time I picked up my 2011, the 2010s hadn't bottomed out as much so for me, it seemed easily worth it to just jump to the 2011 since the price difference wasn't so severe.
Realistically, if I were looking back on things right now and decided what to do..if I could save myself almost 10K by going with a lightly used 2010...I probably would. I love the extra power in the '11 but I'm no racer, if anything I just race occasionally and I do it for fun, not to win. You also have a potentially much more reliable foundation with the 4.6L in there. It's the tried and true option.

The '10 GT with CAI & tune will make up about 20-25% of the difference. Gears will make you quicker, yes, but don't help with the HP diff as I'm sure you're aware.
If you can find a leftover '10 GT for under $23k, then I'd go for it and add a blower. A used '10 shouldn't run you much more than $20k.

That's the kinda answer I'm looking for. Because at the end of the day, that extra 10K can go such a long way...Into other things. I just bought a house and I want a deck...so BAM, there's money for that now.
The 2010 car, engine alone, is just a nice car in general though. I can probably get a deal of about 15-18 K from a dealer for a 2010....and maybe a deal of 25K for a used 11. hmm
