Default So... Boss 302?

Just wondering from those of you who are lucky enough to own/drive a Boss 302... are they much different in terms of handling/ride/power compared to a regular GT or GT500? I'm sure the upgraded suspension etc... makes it a better car but how much noticeable? Does it feel like another car entirely or does it feel like a regular GT only better?

I saw a Boss 302 today briefly and boy was it a head turner. Really stopped the traffic!

I can tell you I am sure it handles better then the GT500 just because of the weight!

But you're wrong. Check Motor Trend and/or Car & Driver. Very close, but the GT500 still edges it out.

"This Mustang is so agile, so responsive to delicate inputs, that it makes the GT500 feel like a FedEx truck." - Car and Driver.

I believe the 2011 GT500 has a curb weight of ~3820 lbs and the Boss 302 has an advertised curb weight of ~3631 lbs.

Boss 302 weight source - http://www.insideline.com/ford/musta...irst-look.html

Shelby weight source - http://www.themustangnews.com/conten...shelby-gt-500/

Overall I'm not sure what makes you think that the GT500 out-handles the Boss 302. Perhaps if you can give me some links to read that would be awesome .

What I saw there was a car that has 100hp more run about .5 seconds faster around the course. The GT500 had almost an identical skip pad rating (0.01g of difference), but was a few seconds slower through the slalom. What I take from that is the GT500 has enough power to make up time where the Boss out-handles it. I'm not trying to diminish the GT500 performance, as it's a hell of a ride, but I think you're mistaken, even based on this article, in assuming the GT500 out-handles the Boss 302. If you see something else in there that signifies otherwise, let me know, but again I saw nothing to show that the GT500 out-handles the Boss. Outperforms on that track in overall time, yes.

Different tracks may show different results, based on the layout. FWIW the Boss 302 beat the GT500's time at Laguna Seca.

A few seconds? The Boss was only .5 second quicker through the slalom. So I could flip the script and say a car that weighs around 200 pounds less and has a purpose built track suspension was only .5 second quicker through a slalom than the pig of a car GT500. Do you firmly agree w/ that, pdonket?

I can firmly agree that the GT500 still has 100 more horsepower, champ.

And at that it has a supercharger.... and the Boss is all motor....

OH! Thats why he's arguing, he has a GT500 go figure.
