How Can I Make Stock GT Quieter?
Hey everyone, I'm the proud new owner of a 2006 Mustang GT of which I love how it sounds, however my wife is the primary driver of the car and she thinks the exhaust is too loud ("drones" is her word for it).
So that brings me to my question, how can I make the stock GT exhaust quieter? She had a 2006 Eddie Bauer Explorer before this so she got used to luxury quiet. If it's bolt-on stuff I can do it myself, if I need to take it to an exhaust shop I just need to know what to have them do.
Thanks!

If you bought it used, I suspect you do NOT have the stock exhaust, especially based on your descriprion of it being too loud and droning. The stock exhaust doesn't drone nor is it at all loud. I suggest you find a set of takeoffs. Unless the previous owner had the components welded, replacing the axlebacks is an easy bolt-on job.

LOL...I just think there should be a qualifying criteria for Mustang owership...dont pass the test...then..."NO MUSTANG FOR YOU!!"
Nice to see Nuke has a properly educated g/f!
(ok so I had a bit too much coffee this morning...)

Either you've got yourself a Mustang with an aftermarket exhaust setup or abnormally loud stock mufflers.

But then she opened the hood, and I was blown away.
Had to mention it

If it is aftermarket i have stock GT mufflers and im in georgia too, depending on the brand id be willing to trade mine+cash for yours or just sellf my stock mufflers outright. Its a simple install, i installed my boom tubes on my own
