I cleaned mine again a couple days ago when i replaces my fuel filter and cabin air filter. Is the oil build up on the TB normal??

And for anyone who hasnt cleaned their TB you should! Its extremly simple to remove and clean. 4 bolts hold it to the intake (8 or 10 mm i cant recall) and its off (after removing your cai or stock intake)

 

From the videos/threads I looked at it seems to be. Mine was just really dirty, hence why it was idling poorly. Running stronger than ever now

Mine were all 8mm, not sure about the GT TB

 

Looking at the pics, your TB was a lot dirtier than mine. Good to hear you found the issue and were able to resolve it, inexpensively! ;-)

 

Yeah it's embarrassing but I guess for the sake of the forum, I want to show how it can get and the difference a clean one makes. I'm good in regards to changing the oil, filters and all that stuff, but honestly cleaning the TB slipped my mind

 

Damn your TB was twice as filthy as mine. I have the same rpm dip problem. I bought some crc cleaner last month and cleaned my TB. The idle was higher but soon started dipping again when i put her into neutral. I don't have a tune either, I'm just letting it be for now.

When coming to a stop sign or stop light, shifting into neutral, I was having issues with my idle increasing up to 1,000 - 1,200 RPM. I did some research and also posted on the forum and they all suggested cleaning the TB and Mass Air Sensor. It helped some, but it did not eliminate the issue.
I cleaned my TB and Mass Air Sensor for the first time last year. Better late than never! =-)

 

Just fixed mine this weekend. Removed Throttle body, cleaned thoroughly with SeaFoam. Cleaned MAF with electronics cleaner, and cleaned and re-oiled air filter.

Before: Idle dropped below 500 when engaging clutch while coming to a stop.
After: Rock solid idle at 800RPM.

You may be interested in purchasing the workshop manual from Helm Incorporated. It will help you find where the MAF is, along with any other questions that could arise if you decide to perform the work yourself.
