Default tick tick tick update

Got my 05 gt back today and after replacing both cam phasers-sprockets and right side lifters she is a smooth as she was when new. Many thanks for the advice and mostly to Kevin U. for the great work. He has been a Ford tech for over 20 years and it shows. It never hurts to have good friends. Ford had a tsb on this problem and having only 62k on the motor I never thought I would have the problems I had. But all is well now, I'm just a little lighter in the wallet now.

Good to here you got it fixed. Shoulda lightened your wallet even more and put some hot rod cams in there while they were working in that area

I know the ticky ticky noises are common on these engines and my engine has developed more valvetrain clatter. I'm sure the liters//followers are the culprits. Although they are a tad louder with the hood open, the performance has not been affected at all. I've heard some 3v's with a horrible clink that almost sounds like a rod knock. I have also seen the issue remedied with a set of phaser limiters. I know for some of us the noise is a no, and some of us don't really mind it knowing that its just the nature of the beast. Glad you got your issue fixed, and looks like I'm heading towards a major tear down of the top end. Ehh, good.excuse to change the cams to some Comp Cams or Detroit Rockers.

Engine has 62k on it and to be honest they are not hard miles. I thought about a set of cams but thought again when I looked at total price but to be honest the sound of a lopey small block, especially in a newer car, is pure music to a car guys ear. I want to again thank the people for the great advice from this forum and believe you me it is worth it to check this forum out with any kind of problem. Boogie
