Default Oil Temp Sensor bypass?

Hey guys. I just completed an engine swap on my mustang about a week ago, which was a nice experience. The new engine is still the 4.6 but with forged rods, pistons, crank, etc. It also has a Moroso oil pan which unfortunately has different threads for the oil temperature sensor to go in. I am constantly getting the P0198 code thrown now for oil high temperature. I am wondering if there is a way to bypass this. A friend of mine said you can get a wire and connect both ends making it a closed loop and it will not trip the code. I've heard some people say that you need to put some size of a resistor in there as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Danny

Install the actual OEM sensor but dont physically insert it
into theoil pan and it will report ambient temps to the PCM.
Or measure the internal resistance of the sensor and insert
the proper value resistor between the two wires.
Whats evers yous dooooos dooooos, DONT connect the two wires together.
This will burn up the current loop in the PCM.

If you're going to do the resistor trick, which I recommend, place the element end of the sensor in hot water, maybe 150 degrees. Measure the resistance across the leads and get a resistor of that value. You may have to use a variable resistor to dial it in correctly.

Don't know if the ECM changes any parameters dependent on oil temp. Just a warning???

It probably references it with the CTS and
if the corrolation is not correct, it could
throw a bad sensor code...

Hey guys i really appreciate the feedback. I guys i'll end up buying the oil temp sensor from Ford for $50. I believe mine is bad at this point as the sensor actually spins all the way around. From what I've been told it isn't supposed to spin all the way around. Is there any other place to get these oil temp sensors? Autozone doesn't carry them...
