Default wrench lite help

i was driving to a cruise today when all of a sudden the car lost power and the wrench lite came on. so i pulled off the road and shut the car off. waited a few minutes and started the car up and the wrench lite stayed off but i just wanted to get the car home. it was raining so i really didnt want to see if it lost all power again. there was no DTC code in the tuner. i called my tuner and he said air intake or throttle body issues. he said clean the throttle body inside and check for loose connections. i have an oil separator but it wasn't even a third full. throotle body was somewhat dirty inside. it is raining here now and gettin late so i will wait for tomorrow to test it out. please give me your suggestions on what might be going on!!

without a code, its hard to determine what it is.
is there anything that you added recently?
did you ever have any problems in the recent past with the Mustang or the tune?

Limp Home Mode.

Not the mode you want to be in. I have been knocked into it before when screwing with my tune. Presumably I made the car run too rich(I selected a CAI with more airflow than what I had at the time).

Limp home mode often won't throw a code. Car will lose power and can't accelerate. I was plagued with the problem for awhile. Car would go into limp home mode while cruising on the freeway, moving from a stop, and decelerating. Sometimes it would go for a month with no issue, sometimes it would do it once a week. When it happens, I would just turn the key off and back on right away and it'll run fine again. I did that once on the freeway when it went into limp home mode and I acted like nothing happened. I just kept cruising. lol I've replaced the throttle body w/TPS. Redid the electrical connections with solder instead of crimp connectors. Made sure there's no sharp bends in the wiring at the connectors to the throttle body and MAF. Cleaned inside the connectors with electrical contact cleaner. So far no more problems. *knocks on wood*

Clean the contacts on the connector for the MAF and be sure all the intake hose clamps are snug. Even overtightening can cause leaks. But I'm thinking it's a MAF connection.

I've had a similar problem with my K&N intake working itself off my throttle body. It has thrown a code once, butt has happened many times. Check to see that your intake hasn't worked it's way off the throttle body. Probably not your issue, but check it just to be sure.
