Default 08 5-Speed Clutch Issues

Hey Guys,
I have been having a problem recently with my clutch pedal. When I start the car in the mornings or after not driving it for a while, the clutch pedal stays mostly down after i put it into first. There is about an inch of play from where it pops up to, to where it hits the floor. The clutch still engages the gears and everything when this happens but the pedal has no play at all.

When I pull the pedal up with my foot it tends to stay in the position it should be and functions normal but it still seems pretty odd that this would happen. Anyone else have this problem or maybe any suggestions on what could be causing it?

Much appreciated

Sounds like def. something with the hydraulic system for the clutch, when you pump it what does it do?

When he clutch is stuck down and I pump the pedal, it usually just stays in that small amount of play until I pull it up with my foot.

I'm sure it is something with your hydraulic clutch system, hopefully someone chimes in. How many miles?

The car has 33,000 miles which is nothing for being over three years old, it has also always been babied, never raced and always garage kept so Im not sure why its doing this.

What kinda repairs/costs am I looking at here redfire?

The only other thing i could think of is if the brake fluid was low because the brakes were worn out, since they use the same resovoir! or you have a problem with the clutch master, line or slave cylinder
