Default Distance To Empty Error

I was driving last night and I was watching my DTE screen go down. But for like every quarter mile I actually drove, the DTE screen would go down a mile. So basically it took sixteen miles off for an actual four mile drive. Help please?

Thanks.

It updates based on your average MPG. If that 4 mile drive was stop-n-go, then it'll have gone down based on that. I've had the DTE actually increase as I drive. It's just a guess - don't take it as gospel. It's not an excuse for you to stop paying attention to the gas gauge.

Oh okay. My car has been doing some funky things recently. I have to get my Bank 2 camshaft sensor replaced and now the Check Charging System indicator randomly comes off and on while I'm driving.
