Default WMS High Velocity Intake

Hey guys-

Does anyone have any experience with this kit?

http://www.mossmuscle.com/Shop/ViewP...eIndexID=52844

Thoughts/comments/advice sought. Thinking about trying to use this w the scoops from my Cervini Type IV hood... Should be easy enough to add to or cut down the box peice to get it to form a seal to the hood...

This just from reading that CAI+ Tune = best perf upgrade short of FI, and thinking that CAI+Tune+Reasonably priced and nonrestrictive ram air kit might be money.

Is this from experience or your 12 post count?

It works wet or dry.

The rain issue is another positive imo. BC right now I just have 2 openings in the hood so when it rains I get wetness all over the front and top of the engine. Alot of it gets caught by the coolant tank and the stock air hose, but some gets past. Which freaks me out a little. This setup would provide a backstop preventing water from getting everywhere, and the bottom part of the box looks to have a down angle which would channel water towards the front of the car and out. The intake couldnt really be helped, but hopefully the filter would keep too much H20 from being aspirated. The filter is mounted above the plate itself and is solid in front, so short of a hurricane im not too worried about water.

I once looked at that cai. After talking to several different tuners i came to the conclusion it wasnt going to work for me. Basically the maf is too close to the throttle body and the incoming air will swirl in the maf causing drive-ability issues. There are some well known companies out there that used to carry them but no longer do. Some will tell you your better off with a different cai.

If you can get Brenspeed or AM to tune for it, then fine. But it won't get you any more power than any other tune-required CAI.

And those temps are skewed. What were the conditions outside?

@jewc,

What kind of driveability issues, and would the 80mm MAF housing potentually resolve these?
