Default Exhaust Drone

Has anyone ever heard of wrapping the mufflers with header wrap to eliminate the exhaust drone? A guy at a local parts house suggested that to me. I just took the Flowmasters off and put on a set of 18" long glasspacks. It's not near as bad but it's still there at 2k rpm which is right at cruising speed. What about insulating the trunk?

Thanks
