The stock hoods are as prone or more so to "fluttering" than are the aftermarket hoods. It's the bump-stops as stated above.

What did you use on the new build, the Steed full cowl? Why woudl you not useo n the street.

Forget what the material is called (or brand), but hood is very very light. Could be lifted by 1 person, if not for the awkward size. The Cervini was way way heavier. Unlikely hood would meet safety requirements for street use.

You mean a carbon viber one? Heck teh Steeda full cowl only weighs liek 33 pounds, with is less than stock.

awesome.. Yeah, I'd never seen those before.. thanks for putting me on to them! I'll have to do some customizing to my rad. extension covers.. but it'll be okay.. worse case I have to completely cut around the block. but hopefully it'll just be a couple of holes. I just got my UPS tracking number for em.. I'm excited.. w00t..

thanks again!

Don't vettes and vipers have a hood that is hinged at the front rather than at the windshield also?

My stock hood (with stock faux scoop) fluttered above 85, particularly when there were cross winds, it's unnerving, but it never came unlatched even at higher speeds. But with my aftermarket hood I installed hood pins for piece of mind, and it doesn't flutter, period.

Mlawdawg, I recently installed the steeda hood, although I got the street version. Installed with the steeda hood pins; I experience no shaking of the hood at or above highway speeds. My stock hood never shook either. I'll make a more detailed thread and post some pics soon, but Im real happy with how everything turned out.
