Default Mustang On Order: Ridiculous Wait Time

Well, I've got a 2012 Kona Blue Mustang v6 Vert on order.

I really am trying to hold my patience - but it is wearing thin. The good weather ends in 2 months.

I ordered back in late May/early June - and I still don't have it. They told me 6 to 8 weeks.

I've been calling the dealer and getting the runaround.

At one point he said that they had to shut down the factory temporarily to "retool" it for the 2012 m/y. Not really believing it...

The guy that ordered a GT500 around the same time already has his.

I haven't heard a word since.

Does anyone have any clue whats going on that would have me waiting this long?

Doesn't seem like you passed that 8 week wait time yet.

None of the dealers in my area had a Kona Blue with a black top. They only had the brown tops. I must have my black top.

I always thought the plants shut down around June /July for retooling. Your dealer should have informed you.....slackers.

Thats what I was looking to hear... They told me that so I came here to essentially confirm that...

But according to them I was going to be one of the first ones built after retooling - and still not a word.

You better hope they have it built before the "retooling" for Job 2 (mid August), or you're gonna be waiting even longer

Do you have a VIN yet?

No... Not a word...

Now you're making me nervous.

I was HOPING to get it before the end of next week so I can take it to Oshkosh... Doesn't look like that'll happen...

Just so you know its gonna cost you about $1800 to fix the vert top in the event it tears.
