Harley Davidson started doing this lately. Came out with the Twin Cam 88" engine in 2000. In 2007 they went to a 96" as a standard. Now this year they are making the 103" engine standard. Damn it, might have to buy me a new Road King! I miss having a Harley in the garage.

Itll only get worse. Sooner or later we'll have electric that zoom bast big block v8s. But you know what? It'll never sound like a v8 and it'll never give you the adrenaline rush of hearing a modified v8 fire up when cold.

Let em have the 300 hp stock v6s, I rather have a 300 hp stock v8

I guess it just doesn't bother me that the new V6 is getting close to my 4.6 in performance. I'm not out there racing them and so far as my enjoyment factor, I LOVE the sound of a Ford V8 and that's what I get to play with every time I slip behind the wheel!! :-)

My question is if they can get such performance out of a 3.7, what could Ford do with a 6L?

Does kind of suck to think that the new 5.0, which is only 21 cubic inches bigger, has 100 more ponies than our cars. I have an 07, and I definitly prefer the body style to the new one, but I would sure like to have that engine. However, it is a lot of extra coins.

I store mine over the winter, don't take to the track in the summer, so how much will I actually miss that extra hp? I rarely go over 5000 rpms anyways. I will just try to be satisfied with what I have, which, all in all, is still pretty damn nice.

I agree with this 100%! My number one motivator for trading in my V6 for a GT was sound and sound alone. Everything else just takes care of itself.

I will always prefer Iron Maiden over the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra
