I really like the Valvoline Max Life.

Your T5 uses Dextron III or equivalent (assuming it's a World Class unit). This is the best Dex III I have ever used. It was recommended by the best mechanic I have ever met, and it made a noticable improvement in the way my auto trans functioned in my late model chevy.

Amsoil Synthetic ATF

There is nothing better you could use, not to mention good for up to 100,000 miles in your T3650, MT82, or T6060. You will no longer experience cold fluid shift grinds, high RPM shift grinds, and your shifter will feel like butter in your hands.

Red Line D4 ATF is another great ATF on par with Amsoil.

You won't find this level of ATF performance in petroleum based fluids. *Hint - you can't buy a 100% true synthetic ATF in a store other than Royal Purple MAX ATF*

If you have an Auto I would go with Mobil 1. I have a 95 Taurus SHO, lightly modded with 320k on the original transmission. These cars are known for transmission issues and I honestly believe Mobil 1 has kept this transmission in one piece this long, I bought the car with 112k and have been using Mobil 1 since I bought it. Last year the car ran 14 back to back passes at the drag strip with no issues.

Not to take away from Mobil 1, as it's one of the best ATF fluids you can buy from a store, but...

There are superior ATF fluids you can buy.

The liquor we can agree on, but I prefer Camel Wides or American Spirit Blacks and a beretta

No horror stories, but in a 1999 Trans Am with a T56 Tremec, I used Red Line D4 ATF. The gear box shifted so nice, it was like a dream. After a clutch replacement I used Royal Purple Synchromax, and that butter smooth feeling was gone. Never tried thier MAX ATF though, so no input there.

I stick to Amsoil because I know it works in the T3650 and T6060, every time.
