the keys for the newer mustangs wont work on all the older cars. 05-06 has a different ignition iirc.

exactly, thats what i heared/read, mine is 2006. i ordered the ebay one since it bother the s$#t out of me having these 2 chunky things in my pocket. the 2007+ key was my first hope but after reading about them (not being compatible w 05/6) i gave up. i pray the flip works. btw, in 1999 i had a mercedes transporter in germany that had the flip key/remote as oem equipment. still like my mustang better

If the flip key works with your 06 make sure to come back and lets us know. Until someone confirms I am gonna hold off

Subscribing. This is interesting, so if I have an 08 would this key definitely work for mine? The website advertises 05-09 mustangs, so why wouldn't it work for the 06s?

aaquib: I ordered something similar over a year ago. It was advertised to work in 06-10, but it didn't work in my 06. I'm hoping to hear a success story this time.

Anyway, you do need two keys IIRC to program the new key. it;s been a long time since i did that though. somewhere there is a long thread on this from back when i had my 05 and links to instructions are there.
