Just be prepared to be accused of going RICE (Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement) wherever you go after you put these on your Mustang. Misbadging is one of the defining characteristics of RICE... just saying. Lots of haters will hate on you for it and if you're cool with that, then Zen it up man.

It's a slippery slope. Those not in the know will have no idea what the emblems mean, except they look cool. Those in the know will shame you endlessly. Others may not give a toss either way. And of course, you will know.

Short story: My Dad, who loves Ferraris, put Ferrari stickers on his 1978 Buick Skyhawk (LOL) and he got nothing but flack for it. He traded up to a red 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 and guess what he put on that after a few years? Ferrari stickers. He caught even more flack for that because he'd show it off at local Cruise Nights. Finally, he got a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I'm sure you can guess what emblem is now adorning the rear deck-lid. He also takes that to Cruise Nights, but after 30 years of trying, people finally gave up ragging on him so much. It made him bonkers, though. Seeing what my Dad went through, I really can't recommend misbadging and then showing off your car to all of the Joe Six Pack critics out there—unless you WANT to get into fistfights.

(I agree the snake should be silver on black with "FORD" in silver.)

Just an idea.. Return the fake snakes and put a flat clear on the GT emblems & trunk badge.. which should give them a nice satin silver look without the chrome. Like what this guy did to his dash trim rings:

^ Your new sig looks sick, 07.

OP, it sounds like you have your mind made up so I also say do what the photochop has done with silver FORD lettering. Make the snakes black.

I agree with what hamhole said, if you can handle the constant flack you will be receiving at shows and whatever else you plan to do, more power to you man. That photoshop does look nasty and if I own a GT500 in the future i'm going to do that!

lmao Rice? Not at all. I think you need to check your definition of rice. And do you feel better trying to highjack a thread when you were told to save it? Putting a cobra badge on my car is far from putting it on a stock gt. I have a lot of work into my car and it looks more like a shelby then some shelbys. Also the only person who is going to start bashing would be an uneducated insecure person like yourself who doesnt know the difference between a cobra badge and a GT500 badge. And the slippery slope is another funny comment considering my exterior is done so thanks for the laugh.

Not fake snakes they are ford racing parts. Thats not bad looking but that is close to what the shelby emblems already are and if I was going to paint GT ones I would have to buy a new set which is a waste imo.

Side note, I understand where the dislike comes from for re badging because I used to feel the same way about representing the brand but then I grew up. I feel bad for all you guys who care so much about what everyone thinks and how fast everyone is compared to your car. There is always someone out there who is faster including faster than GT500s, but if a cobra looks better on a car and in this case matches the eleanor look than who cares what the haters say. No one is going to honestly say they dont like the cobra style badges better. And I guess bad *** cars like mellowyellow's should be shunned because he is cloning a GT500 and not really a GT500. Haters will always find something to hate cobra badges or not.
