This is a thread where I fixed my rear bumper.
It came out pretty well and cost about $40 in supplies.
Would be worth a shot, I didn't do the top part where I had some damage, because I was afraid it would could the paint to chip on my fender.

Thanks Tanner, I was looking for that thread to use as reference for whenever I repaint my bumper, Although mine's not quite as bad, so I might be able to manage with just some touch ups...not completely sure.

I took the trunk of my car apart just a bit ago,
and that corner of the car is accessible, you can feel the dents on the inside. So I think if I possible got a body anvil/hammer, and baby'd it, I might be able to get the dent out...as far as repainting, I have no idea where to start on that.

Depending on your State labor rates and all, looks to me to be a $800 repair or so.
It's below a Grand anyway so with your $1000 deductible, the point is moot.

Touch it up for now and work a budget towards repairing it.
Maybe upgrade the rear bumper then.

Also, a $1000 deductible is ridiculous, might as well have no coverage at all in that case.
Just be with the minimum that the law allows.
You'll never get to use your policy unless you're looking at a $10.000 damage.

Really? 800??

Jesus....

What do you think about repairing the rear bumper the way Tanner05 did hers?

I want to see if there is a way to DIY all this, because 800 bucks is about what I make in 3 months. heh.

Keep in mind, Kput, I only did my bumper this way because I will be getting a new rear bumper eventually and I didn't feel like bumping $375 into fixing a V6 bumper.

How does it look now, in comparison with the rest of the car?
Can you tell, visually, that it's been repainted?

lol this is literally driving me insane. I wash my car pretty much every week. California Dust Brush it like 3-4 times a week..
so this guant flaw on the back is making me want to cry =/ (not really, but I'm sure you understand).

I want it fixed and gone, but I'm nowhere near being able to afford having it fixed.

Its a little more matte than the rest of the car, but I could fix that with some 2000 grit and some more clear coat.

Bro, I do not think that is something you even want to try yourself. Especially as a "weekend do it yourself" thing. If you fix it it will look like you fixed it. The reason body work costs so much is because very few people have the skills and knowledge to do it. There is a lot more to it other than what you might think. Do what you want, but that is something you need to let a person who knows what they are doing do. If you cannot afford to have it fixed, I would leave it alone. If you try to repair something like that you will wished you had left it alone.

I disagree, mine really doesn't look bad it looks much better than if I had left it alone. And no one notices until I mention it. Its not a permanent fix, but it does look better than doing nothing as long as you take your time and listen to advice from people on the forum.

I agree with what Tanner said.
Even if only certain people have the skills/talents to do stuff like that,
their knowledge is shared. There's videos all over youtube, links all over the internet, of how to do stuff like this.

I've been reading over all of them, plus Tanner's thread really helped me out. I'll be stopping by an Auto Parts store here soon and purchasing an Auto Body Hammer/Anvil, and attempting to punch the dents back out. (If I be super careful about it, it should work pretty well.)
From there, I'm not sure what to do, still need to research.

As for the lower bumper, I'll start out buffing it out really well, then throw in some touch-up paint and see how that looks. If I have to, I'll sand it all down and fix it up better.

Honestly, I can't mess it up much worse than it already is. So if I wind up failing, I can just save up and have it taken in and fixed. I'll still be paying out my ***. But if there's a chance I can do it myself, for a fraction of the price, and it still look good, I'm all for it.
