Where's 3rd gear!!??
I've had my 07 GT for 7 months now, although it's not a daily driver I try to take it out quite a bit. I'm still having trouble finding 3rd gear when accelerating hard. I have no trouble with rest of gears & there's no grinding or anything, I just have a heck of a time getting it to go in. I either hit the gate or Go to first!!! Any secrets??? BTW, I'm running a hurst shifter & really like it except for this 3rd gear thing!

Really, I don't know. I hit that wall with my OEM when trying to hit it hard on occasion, and while I've not driven muscle cars for most of my life, I have nearly always had a stick in my 20+ years of driving. My personal feeling is it's a short-coming of the transmission itself on the whole, but perhaps a bit of a syncro issue on top of that?

I'm sure it is for the bucking and such, but how does this affect getting 3rd in? I assume this stabilizes things better so it's not potentially missing due to flex, is that the idea?
Never really occured to me that the supporting sections might be my enemy for this one...interesting.

Che unit reduces missed shifts especially into 3rd as it keeps the tranny from twisting........

A trick I learned with the stock shifter on the T5 was to just push forward from 2nd and it guides itself into 3rd, initially I had a hell of a time trying too hard to get it into 3rd and I was having the same issue as you.

K member brace?? I never thought of that. Makes sense since the shifter is mounted to the body like "07 GT E UPP" said. I figured it would take practice, but it only happens when shifting hard & I don't bang through the gears every time drive it.

Either the K-member brace with torque limiters or I heard urethane motor mounts will help get rid of that issue as well.
