I dont think price is horrible especially for the automatic but im just hung up on the "finders fee" mostly and every dollar counts. Thanks for the input

The price sounds right. But the fee to move it? Tell them you will not pay it. Tell them you will drive their yourself and buy from that dealer. Thatmeans the first dealer will not make a dime. That might light a fire infer their asses to drop the transfer fee.

I financed $22703 with $0 down, including TT&L, plus about $300 rolled over from my trade. I bought a race red 101A spec car that had $3000 cash back available.

They had to find the color and package I wanted and it was about 3 hours away. They paid the costs of the trade. This usually requires negotiating a stock swap for something the other dealer needs or wants.

Tell them to bring it in on their nickle if they want the sale in their monthly close. If not, another dealer will be glad to have your money. You just need to walk in and tell them what terms you will accept and walk away when they start pushing back.

Scotty... I need you to come talk up my deal. That is awesome. As of right now im at that 23600 and putting 4k down. Your right it is a stock swap i did hear him talk about that. I am going to tell them its on them or i can walk. Im gunna first have him disclose how much that fee is exactly so i dont get short changed

Just finalize the deal (on paper) so they can't charge you more and be sure to have them outline EVERY cost.

Quick little update... the salesguy just called and due to my weird work sched and only having one day off in the upcoming week he said he was going to just get the car to the dealership. I think this is good and bad now. Either he puts himself in a corner to sell this car or he will stick to firm to the no reduction in price. I think its more good then bad though. Thoughts???

Now you have him right where you want him. Just go in and tell him that you have a conversation going with another dealer a couple of hours out. He has to pull the car in, too, but will do it for free and found you another $1500 in the sales price. If he wants to keep the deal local, which you prefer, he needs to ante up.

Also, name your interest rate, payment and total financed up front. Make him fit the deal into your box. I played this way (my usual) and I only missed by .1% on the loan rate.

If you're going to tell them how much you're willing to pay per month, you need to also be firm on your time period in which you want to finance the car. 300 a month for 48 months is quite a bit less than 300 a month for 60 .

we have already knocked out some numbers and if nothing were to happen i would be ok with where we are payment wise but im sure can get it abit lower by nixing these fees.
