Kickers are nice. They are best in ported so you'll prolly have a box that takes up your entire trunk. I had 2 Apline Rs in a cubic foot each sealed and getting the box in and out was a PITA and I had next to nothing for trunk space. I'm wondering if you'll have to build your box in the trunk. Also plan on adding 100+ lbs over your back axle from a properly built box.

Maybe upgrading your Big 3 wiring too considering you'll have to have a stout amp, it helps a lot with dimming issues. I ran a Alpine MRD-1000 and the dimming was terrible until I upgraded the wiring to 4 gauge. If you need info on the Big 3 upgrade, read on it here....http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...TID~73496~PN~1

It's one of the most overlooked mods when it comes to stereo installs.

too many people with differing opinions.
I thought about Alpine Type R's, but was told that having Dual 12"s in such a small space, they wouldn't sound as good as they should.
I was thinking of just going with whatever type of Kicker's they sell at Best Buy, getting the warranty to go along with that, then picking up an amp. (No idea where to go on that either..)

Don't go to Best Buy,I've heard nothing but bad things about their installers.
I have 2 12'" Memphis mcp12d4 in a custom built box and the sound is awesome. It does take up most of the trunk but there is just enough room for my golf clubs.
If you want me to post up a pic of them let me know.

If I go to Best Buy I'll just buy the subs there. I don't waste my money on installers.

Also if you're looking for something showy, not too pricey, and not too big, I would recommend these.

Not only do they light up (kinda cheesy, I know), but they sound great.
I have a single 10" Dual Bandpass in my car, and it shakes my mirror. Sounds great!
Sure, it's nothing compared to Apline's,
but it banks.

Also,
Mine is powered. Meaning it has a built in amp..(the ones I posted do not, but I'm suure you can find some.

that's mine

i went with 2 8" pioneer subs in the doors and 2 10" Apline subs in the trunk. The subs in the trunk are mounted to either corner of the trunk so I still have a lot of usable space.

The sound is awesome. Very clear and you "feel" the bass without rattle (dynamat in the trunk).

Hope that helps.
