Hi frodin1,

Glad to hear it's under warranty! I mean, like wayne613 said, you might as well use your warranty. Keep me in mind if you need any assistance.

157dB,

Shhh...I'm actually a top-secret robot. But seriously, I'd just be guessing if I tried to come up with an answer to his noise. So I recommend the dealer, since they are in the best position to diagnose it.

You can easily prove you're no robot. <Insert tasteless joke about personal phone # for verification and breathing heavy here.>

I plan on it. Its a hell of a lot easier to take it in and just say fix it! But if they have no idea what the hell your talking about. Chances are, it's going to be a repeat trip! I try to avoid that at all costs. I don't know how many times customers came in saying " There's a weird noise"! It sounds like it's directly behind the speedo, and it sounds just like a stripping plastic gear to me. Thanks guys! I'll keep ya informed.

Because when it goes to the dealer, it usually returns with more problems
than when it went in. Door panels are designed to be installed quickly
on the assembly line, not to be removed and then reinstalled by a dealer.
All sorts of plastic clips break and then you are left with even
more undesired noises. And a new scratch or dent in the body.
Or a wicked BO smell from the ASE Certified Tech.

Mine was at the dealer once and they put the wrong oil in it,
didnt change the filter and charged me a pretty penny to do both.
The scratch on the door and the wicked BO smell was at no charge...
My stang has and never will see the Dealer again...

My aunt took her car into the dealership a few months ago for an oil change and they used TRANSMISSION fluid. Whoops. She is still trying to get them to pay for the new engine.

Dealerships aren't always the best place to go.

The old saying "Want it done right, do it yourself" always holds, but no way I'd let things like this slip by them. If they sold it, they sure as hell had better back it.

My '10 V6 has also had this problem for the past 2 months or so. Kinda annoying. It does it when you start the car and when you turn on the A/C or the defroster.
