Default wideband help!!

I am looking to get a wideband this way I dont have to run back and forth to a dyno and pay $150 just to check my air/fuel ratio. I got my new vmp tune, and before I do a WOT datalog I was going to have my air/fuel checked on a dyno for obvious reasons lol. I see some run for around $250 and others run for around $400+. I am looking for one that WORKS and isnt way over priced. Also if anyone has some install threads or notes that would be great.

Since I have an offroad x pipe and my rear 02's are turned off, cant I just use the bung hole from one of those?? That way I dont have to have a new bung welded in.

I got the autometer cobalt. Its a digital read out and pricey but when I had my car on the dyno it read perfectly.

AEM 30-4100 - AEM Digital Wideband AFR UEGO Gauge

AEM 30-5130 - AEM Analog Gauges

Yep, you can use that bung hole but you will only get readings from
that bank of cylinders...???

But isn't that true regardless of using that spot or putting your own bung in place? Unless you are running two AFR's you will only get it mounted to one side.

Yeppers. Unless you weld the bung in the middle of the OEM H Pipe.
Or the crossroads of your X-Pipe.

If your one side is A-OK, you can bet your unmonitored side is
A-OK unless you have an injector problem or someother mechanical
blurb. But the programming dont 'break down' so if you see good
A/Fs on one side and everything is working PERFECTLY mechanically
wise, you can bet the other unmonitored side is A-OK also.

Are you just using it for tuning, or do you want to monitor afr all the time? I have a wideband (autometer) in my truck, and once the tuning was done, its just a bunch of flashing lights. If I were to do it over again, I would skip the permanent mount and run an Innovative LM-1 for tuning only. Data logging is built-in, and you can easily use it on multiple cars.

A wideband is a must when you got a blower IMO.

I have the autometor unit. Got it here. Innovative has some cool stuff. You can datalog onto a ipad with their stuff. Aeroforce gauge can read a/f with the extra connector.

All that you said is true, and most simply monitor one side.

If you have cats though and put the bung in the middle of the H or X then you won't be getting an accurate reading. The cats will alter the gasses flowing across the sensor.

Justin @ VMP actually just called me back about my tune, and I asked him about a wideband and he said if I wanted, I could order one of the dyno get widebands off his website (commander & gauge seperate) and he could get it out second day air for no added charge. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have the AEM that you linked to and have been happy with it. The bung is mounted on the driver side in front of the cat on mine. The AEM is an all in one unit, and it looks like the one that Justin has is a two piece and will connect for direct reading on the dyno jet and maybe for data logging on the SCT? The AEM can be set up for data logging on the SCT, but it is a little more involved from the brief description on the Justin's site for the one you linked to.
