Battery and/or alternator. If you've been on the forum for any amount of time you know that the S197's have a poor track record with their charging system, especially since it sounds like your subs may be pushing the alternator past it's limit and the battery can't handle the additional drain. And if it's the OE MotorCrap battery, then it was as issue from day one. A lot of those OE batteries have no capacity to speak of.

Sorry for assuming you were a troll, at first I wasn't sure if it was your car, just thought it was somebody elses and you were making fun of them lol.

That does suck though. I'd agree with Nuke, at the very least the battery could be dead, but the alternator might be shot too. To be honest I'm already thinking of putting away for an aftermarket battery and alternator since Ford seems to do a terrible job with their electrical setups.

Let me tell ya...I'm sure everyone remembers me replacing my alternator. I was pissed. Hopefully he won't have to!

Could be just a funky battery. If it kept running when "me and a guy popped the clutch and it started right up", then the alternator was probably working. Mustangs with the factory NAV systems (don't know if you have one) are known to drain the battery if you leave the stereo on and shut the engine off...don't know why. The Factory battery has also given some people poor service life. Should be under warranty, I think (?). Probably nothing serious.

He said it wouldn't jump though? If he had a bad battery wouldn't a jump start it right up?

With a sustained deep discharge, or otherwise defective, no. And he states it's leaking. Might as well try to hook up a 9v to it, likely get a better result.

+100 on the battery. I live in AZ and my Original battery lasted all of 18 months. It is possible for a battery to have enough juice in it to turn on everything but not crank the motor.

The only reason I got a new OEM battery is because it was free under warranty.
