2015 Mustang 4 cylinder Rice
#21
I just want to point out- If us V6 guys take flak from the V8 guys (Which imo is a pointless game of who has a bigger epeen) just imagine how much a I4 guy will have to take... I can see it now "Its only a HALF pony"

No more so than the 4-cylinder Fox or Mustang II cars were.
I think we can trust the domestic OE's to avoid including as original equipment any of the visual or audible things that have strong "rice" associations. Maybe we can't define or completely agree on what "rice" is exactly, but we know it when we see it or hear it.
The risk of alienating the more traditional buyers is too great, and negative publicity works too well for Ford to ignore.
Any future 4-cylinder Mustang would have to have to be Ecoboosted, and lose a little weight as well. 20 years ago, the SVO Mustangs were too far ahead of their time from both the technical and buyer acceptance points of view. Turbocharging has come a long way since, and if it's still considered by many to be not quite 'mainstream', it's getting close.
