SLP loudmouths...
+1 on the Cai and tune, it really wakes these cars up. I have a steeda cai and I love it, buy the intake and tuner togethe. As mentioned above me American muscle gives free tunes for life with there tuners, it's great when adding new mods. The slps are loud and have a pretty aggressive tone, it sounds great IMO. Enjoy
They were my first mod as well. Besides the Hurst shifter, this is my favorite mod out of all I have done. SLPs are quality, who gives a crap what some friend of yours says. Unless he's the one thats paying, tell him to stfu...
ya i figured i would just go with what i wanted since im paying ha... who knows what 100 bucks would have gotten me, just was not worth it... and ya CAI and tuner are my next mods, then after that, tints and working on blacking everything out (red car, black accents)
This is my 11.Shop cut tips off mufflers and welded them onto straight pipes.AM wanted $469 for SLP,i paid $80.

SLP's are top notch!! I had them and loved the crap out of them... but when i got LT's w/ORx it was over the top loud.. I put the stock mufflers back on and it still sounds amazing.. I eventually will be going with some steeda, borla or something along those lines..
It really depends on what you are looking for as far as sound goes. It's REALLY important to some people, and to others they just want a nice tone, and still others could care less/want it to be completely shut up even. My dad had an "exhaust shop custom" done on his 09 Challenger R/T. Basically that consisted of removing everything stock except the converters, and putting on what looks to be a glass pack on each side. Sounds terrible and cheap. Getting that crap removed at another shop the next day and something decent put on, he ended up just blowing 150 dollars on the first exhaust shop's gamble.
My coworker has open exhaust from the axle back with tips on his 06 GT. I have SLP's axle back on my 08 GT. They sound different. Not sure how, as SLP's seem to be nothing but some very high quality tips, but mine is much smoother and deeper. His is just noise. Wide open they sound pretty much the same though.
Anyway, good choice on the SLP's! A CAI and tune will make a noticeable difference and it's a great first step!
You'll lose yourself into it from there! Got my foot in the door with those mods, now the desire to do more is overwhelming and our bank account hates me every time I visit American Muscle!

SLP's is a great starter exhaust, can't really go wrong with them. Simple and gives the GT a much aggressive sound over stock.
Maybe I'm just bored of them now but I wouldn't mind changing it up. Suppose that happens with everyone. The only thing I don't like about them is on a cold morning. They tend to gurgle and sound like a tug boat.
