JDM or VMP
I know dyno tunes are the way to go I am just a little skeptical about JDM lol. I know I bombard you guys with these threads all the time, but JDM just doesnt seem to go the extra step for the customer. When I just recently had my email tune checked and the air/fuel was 11.7-12.3 they said it was fine. I said ok but I would feel more comfortable if you guys added a bit more fuel to drop the a/f below 12 and Jim jr said "its more of a hassle than anything and being that you are coming down in less than a month he gurantees it would be fine".... I mean c'mon JDM wtf I know I am coming down there in less than a month, but I also spent $285 on this fvking email tune that has given me nothing but problems with being a little on the lean side.
I read this somewhere else so its not info from me, but I heard JDM uses "canned" email tunes and this is why they have problems adjusting them. Basically its a universal tune that will work on M90 cars +/- a little fuel for different mods. But this is just what I have heard so I dont know if its 100% true

They would probably go that extra step if their first step was way off. But seeing that you're going there in a few weeks, and your A/F is fine the way it is, they're just going to wait till they get it on the dyno instead of trying to make "Fine" adjustments to something that's not in front of them. Being on the lean side would be more like 14+! 11.7-12.3, like Buckeye said, is perfectly fine.
I guess you guys are right. He did say "listen if you were miles and miles out of state we would definitely revise it, but its to much of a hassle to fine tune an email tune if you coming in for a dyno tune in a few weeks anyway"...
Just one other thing, I am taking my headers off on labor day and my appointment for the dyno tune isnt tyll the 15th. Will the car be ok to drive until than? Jim Jr. said it will be fine, the only thing its going to do is actually richen up the tune a bit.

Cause I figure what if I trade the car in or something like that. Also would I be able to find a place thats "flexible" even if they do it through the OBDII port? In new york they no longer use a sniffer, they just do it through the port to see if the rear 02's are working and everything is good. I am actually going to take a ride to the place that did my inspection when the car was new and ask they if I would "pass"
I am willing to throw cats on the car, but Jim at JDM said I still might throw a code. I am going to call him tomorrow and see. I was wondering if maybe I could add the cats and also add these http://www.brenspeed.com/730-2442.html to pull the 02's out of the air flow a little more.
I vote for you going back to stock and selling me your exhaust set-up!!
No, really tho...I'm not too versed in tunes but from what I have saw...you might need a dyno tune to get what you want...hate to have you spend the money. Have you explained everything to JDM yet, and I mean EVERYTHING?
