Default JDM or VMP

Ok well I have made up my mind and decided that I am just going to take the headers off. I'm sure many may be surprised that I am going through all this work to take them off, but Jim at JDM said even with the high flow cats there is a chance I wont pass inspection, and its not like I am struggling for horsepower.

My questions is which is better, a dyno tune from JDM or an email tune from VMP with datalogging? As my car sits right now I have a JDM email tune (dyno tune appt. sept 15) and a VMP email tune. I emailed Justin @ VMP and he is going to send me a revised tune for when I remove the headers. I am wondering if I should just load the VMP tune in, have the air/fuel check, and datalog with Justin or just have JDM dyno tune it. Many people say a datalogged email tune is the same as a dyno tune. I know the cost doesnt matter when it comes to a tune, but if I load the vmp tune and datalog and get it dialed in there probably isnt a need to spend the $475 for a dyno tune.

What do you guys think? Datalog with VMP since I already spent the $250 for the tune, or just skip all of that and stick with my dyno tune at JDM on Sept.15?

I would stick with VMP as Justin is as good as it gets with these cars and you know the tune will be safe. Just datta log your car and you will be fine. Why pay that much more when the tune you have is just as good or better. Im sure there are nut huggers for every tuner but i have several tunes and his is in the top 2.

Yeah I think I am just going to see what the VMP tune is like. I wont cancel my JDM appointment until the last minute until I know I have the VMP tune working 100%

Wasn't this already covered 3 or 4 times? LOL!! Go get it dyno'd!!! We ALL have come to the conclusion that you are never going to be happy, or trust an e-mail tune. You've proved that already, even though your current tune through JDM is fine. Go get it dyno'd, and drive the damn thing! I completely understand you want it right, but you are complicating the hell out of this whole tune thing.

Hmmm, I was told I would pass emissions in GA with a Kenne Bell, Pypes Long Tubes and high flow cats...

Before taking off those headers and all that work - go get it tested first for emissions...

I would trust Justin's tune, and not worry about the dynotune. I personally will be using his tune, and plan on having my tune through him
