Default hit 90k,... sway bars?

So I am finally deciding to slowly re-work the suspension. First order of business is sway bars. I have decided to go with the Eibach kit on AM.

But just wanted some opinions first.

1. My car atm does not have a rear sway bar, so how much difference will I realistically feel by going with Eibach? I drive my car alot and $300 is not pocket change for me since im a broke college student lol. Will I be happy with the purchase? Everyone seems to speak highly of this kit and the difference it makes.

2. After 90k have the rear shocks degraded in any way? My plan was to replace the struts and shocks before the year is over, but if they are not hurting after all these miles I may use the money for other suspension mods.

Just trying to spend the money in the order that will have the most impact first.

Thanks!

Your factory shocks were doodie to start with. Really. Good shocks will make it feel like a new car. I'd recommend you get good shocks, before the anti-sway bars.
For an economic option, get a set of stock GT bars someone has taken off their car for an upgrade. Stock GT bars are actually quite good (the shocks sucked). If you have to spend more on some bars, look into the ones that Sam Strano offers (his own brand - he sells 'em all). Get some real shocks first, and some used GT bars. I think you'll be glad if you do. As fas a shocks go, with the stock springs, consider Koni Orange or Bilstein. Tokiko and KYB are still better than stock shocks were, but the Koni and Bilstein will likely last longer and dampen better.

Its funny you mention bilstein, because I actually have my heart set on those. Most people I see recommend Tokiko or Koni. Thanks!

I got the FRPP shocks and springs to lower my car about 1 -1 1/4 inches. I will tell you, there is a BIG difference in the way the car feels. I recommend the FRPP shocks/Struts, especially if you don't need the adjustability. I mean, are you REALLY going to adjust your shocks that much?

Yeah sways are worth every penny (especially if you do a lot of hard cornering), you just feel so much more planted and WAY less body roll. I say do it, you're going to love em!

As far as shocks, are there any that drop less than 1/2in or so? Because with winter around the corner I wouldn't feel good dropping my car that much... And is the ride pretty rough after new shocks/springs?

Sorry for the threadjack OP =p

I upgraded the swaybars on my 06 GT, and they made a day a night difference. But yeah, at 90k, your shocks could definitely stand to be upgraded.

Just throwing some ideas out there:

1. we carry the Eibach sway bar kit at UPR Products, but they're $359 with the MF member discount, so AM might be cheaper.

2. NewTakeOff.com has OEM shocks for like $19 each.

I have a base model V6 without rear bar as well, and upgrading the swaybars made the car feel way more planted and less...like a couch

I went with Eibach cause I got a good deal during Black Friday ($260 - 10% mail in rebate).

I was considering Sam's bars until I found that deal since having Rear adjustment sounded good. I don't miss having a fixed rear bar now although it would be nice to adjust for autoX if needed.

Thanks for all the input guys, and man you practically stole them Indecisive, im trying to shop around for the eibach kit and bilstein shocks, but even going with AM and forum discount im still paying over 300 for the bars. But it is what it is i guess. I thought about getting takeoff gt sways, but I know I will still want eibach in the end, mostly cause they are red I guess, and I am very **** about colors lol.

Actually now I am seriously considering Eibach Pro Street coilovers, I can find them for $1000, which Bilsteins for ~$650 + springs ~$250 would roughly equal that. So I think coilovers is a better choice?

Why don't you give Sam Strano a call, and see what he thinks about Eibach coil-overs..? If anyone knows S197 Mustang suspension, I'd bet he does.
