Default Standard Stock Factory Lock/Alarm

As you know, you get out of the car, press the key fob, which locks the door. If you are close enough or have normal hearing, you hear what I call the lock drop or if you are looking at the car, you will see the lights blink. If you press the key fob a second time, the horn chirps.

Most of the time, I'm walking away from the car with bad ears, so I don't see the lights blink or the lock drop. I don't like the horn chirp.

Without adding a 3rd party alarm system, is there a way to change sounds?
Is the horn the only thing available to be heard outside the car?
Is there something I can add just for this application without effecting normal horn operation?

Maybe I need to find some 3rd party alarm instructions and see what wire they connect to so that there alarm can chirp when you set it. Then find something that is not to loud or obtrusive that I can wire into the system. If I can't find any instructions or don't hear anything from one of you knowledgable Stanger's, maybe I'll stop by my audio guy. They also do alarms and we've already agreed that I don't need one yet. Maybe he'll tell me if there is a simple connection or if it all runs off the alarms housing.

I think what I have is called the passive alarm. It always seems like no alarm at all. In my 89 LX 5.0, I had a Viper Alarm system and that had the usual chirp like most alarm systems have and when you hit the panic button you got a series of siren sounds.

the stock alarm should honk the horn. It can also blink the light too. I believe these features can be changed.

Mine will honk twice when I lock it and once when I unlock it. That really confuses the valets! So I park the car myself now.
But it will honk twice about 2 seconds apart (Beep... one banana, two banana...Beep!) if I arm it right after getting out of the car.
But if I arm it later, like a few minutes later after I put on the car cover, it honks twice right away, with no 2 second gap (Beep Beep!).

On my 07, the parking and side lights will blink when I press the lock button once. If I press it twice, it will also tap the horn. As I said, I'm usually walking away, so I don't see the lights blink, I'm deaf so if I'm walking fast I won't hear the lock go "plunk" and I find the horn blowing annoying. I don't think there is anything stock on the car, other than the horn that can be heard outside of the car. I have not had a chance to look on maybe Viper's Alarm website to see if they have any installation instructions. If I could install something that chirp's and found the correct wire to make it work when I press the key fob. Maybe I could find a horse's winnie sound and hope some stallion doesn't jump the fence and try to mount my pony.
