I had the same problem with my 05 V6 stock wheels. I bought ii in June.
I bought wheel cleaner and only used it once. It doesnt seem to clean them.

I used meguiars gold wax, same wax I use on the car and it seems to keep them clean.
I mean, where you can just wipe them down when they get dusty. You still need to wash them when you wash the car, but the brake dust and dirt seems to come off better with having waxed them.
I only tried this one time. I had a family renunion this past Sunday. So I wanted to make sure the Mustang was looking sharp for my wife's family renunion.
I washed and waxed the car on Saturday. Drove about 100 miles to the renunion and drove back 100 miles and the wheels still looked good.

Driving around, your wheels gets dirty especially when it rains. But I think by waxing them, it really helps alot when it comes time to cleaning them.
I wash my Stang every Weekend and this Saturday I will see again.
I wiped my wheels the other day for the hell of it. I found them a little dusty and they still look sharp.

I saw Chip Foose, with the Power Ball commercial.
He cuts the time down doing his wifes wheels.
check this out.

Chris, I have no ideas. I do wish they made the same style V6 rims in 18" or
at least 17" for my GT. that would have been ideal for me but now that i hear
about this problem...

Clean em up and then apply a coat of RejeX by CorrosionX. Kinda like the opinion to wax them, but I like the RejeX better because it is much easier to remove than wax and doesn't leave behind haze. You can use on glass, plastic, etc. I did my whole car with the stuff and it is a piece of cake to keep clean.

Meguiars makes a spray on wheel cleaner that takes the brakes dust right off. You spray water on the rim, spray on the cleaner count to ten and spray off the mess. My rims look nice.

I like using the Meguiar's Wheel brushes and wheel cleaner for cleaning the wheels.

Here's a link to see what it looks like. I got mine @ Autozone but I've also seen them at other car shops, Target and Walmart.

I've been starting my washes by rinsing the wheels, scrubbing with the previously mentioned brushes and the doing the rest of the wash. Has anyone noticed that rust quickly shows up on the disks???
Mothers Wheel Mist is useful also. I use it after I'm done with the rest of the car.
