I have 15k on the rear 555s and they still have probably half the tread left, and I like to get on it occasionally.
They grip fairly well for a GT, sidewalls could stand to be stiffer, my previous BFG KDW2s took turns better. But 555s are pretty dang good for an all around street tire.
I noticed that even though they are supposed to be good in rain, I have to slow down and drive very careful in any kind of steady rain, but that's with 285s in the back.

+1 about the rain, with my 295s if I'm not careful I can easily spin them or make the car slide. But at the same time I don't have traction control !

I roll with 555s I love them. I can launch out of a light with excessive spin. I think the been on for about a year now and still look brand new.. might need a rotate though soon.

i dont think you can unless you have the same size all the way around though. bc the tread direction makes it good for only one side of the car

What makes you say that Nitto makes the best tires? Everything I've seen says Hankooks are better than most of the competition in every aspect of performance and the price point is unparalleled. They perform better than my old nittos.
+1, I put some Hankook V12's on this year and I love them. Great price from Tire Rack.

I've only had the 555's for a bit.. but they still look new after quite a bit of abuse... Tread wear ratings are 300... so probably right at 30,000 mile tires.. They do grip extremely well... don't like cold weather (so far) and do flat spot if your Stang sits over a weekend..

Buy again? so far.. hell ya..

I have been using 255/50/17 Nitto NT555's since i got the car and have had no problems. They seemed to last longer than the Invo's did too, i didnt even get a chance to take the Invos to the track because they only lasted a little over a year.

555s are great for the street and daily use.

NT05 are for track use and wont last you long on a DD. Here my NT05s on the track.
