Never heard that one so I wouldn't blame Ford. Just sounds like you have outlier.

Since it only occurs when cold, I'd suspect something is gummed up. Hit the mechanism with a shot of a good spray lube AND a little white grease, then exercise it a bit. Worse comes to worse, you're under warranty.

 

My car is faster....blower works sooo much better.

Lol, OP we are going to need a little more info that just that. Does the latch mechanism even work? Hit the trunk popper and listen for the sound of the locking mechanism and see if its broken or not functioning?

 

haha, doesnt everyones nipples get hard? anyway it just doesnt seem like it lines up, almost like the trunk gets warped a bit? it was like that this morning, since it was 30's out, but now its fine.

ohh and its of course faster, spins 1st and 2nd easy. no blower though.

 

it doesnt make it to the latch. like the metal is warps a little.
