Default GT hood scoop question.

I wish I could have found this in a search instead of wasting a thread on this.. But how exactly is the Stock GT hood scoop placed on? I know it has bolts but does it have the tape too?..

I don't believe it has tape, mainly due to the fact that my scoop never sat 100% flush to the hood and there was no tape to be seen at those gaps. I had it back to the shop when it was still under warranty and, in typical FORD fashion, they said they couldn't get it any better. It's pretty minor but I notice it. I hope I answered your question despite my divergence.

Gotcha. Yeah I can see gaps in mine too. I thought the scoop would have tape too considering the spoiler does which I didn't expect. Thanks for the help. I hope someone else can chime in to confirm.

I believe when I took mine off it was just bolts and a few clips that you carefully slide backwards. Don't remember any tape on there, but I did put some tape, or sticky substance down to create a seal.

Gotcha, yeah I may put some on mine to help it seal also. Thanks for the info.

If you don't like the gaps, take it off, put 3M double sided tap on and then reattach and bold down. It shouldn't be too hard.

Well I'm thinking of doing some stripes or something like that on my hood and wanted to know what it was like under there if I decided to take it off, do what I wanted to do and then put it back on. I know it was a pain to work on getting the tape off my trunk when I took the spoiler off. I'm just trying to figure out what I will need and how hard it will be to do it all.

Go around the scoop with the stripes or
you could be facing "Bunching" if these
are vinyl stripes and not painted stripes.
Search 'bunching stripes'...
