I found a few GTs with manual trans 5 speeds on the internet, found a dealer that will go X PLAN! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! Car is bought, over the phone by fax, through the Fleet sales manager! My GT that is still on order is a plain deluxe with a shaker 500 and locking lugs. The one i bought by phone/fax is a GT premium, Interior upgrade, 18 inch polished five spoke wheels, and locking lugs. Got it for less than i had signed for on the Deluxe!! I fly out Monday AM to pick up the car, then drive the 1800 miles home!! Fun! I think i can afford the trip, after saving $$1668 !! The deluxe was 400 under MSRP, the Premium is 2068 under MSRP!! I will post after i get my little Red Rod home!!

This will be my daily driver as well, at least till the snow hits. Then it will be time to install the saleen blower i bought from JDM!! Then i can sleep later in the morning![sm=gears.gif]

If the Gt is on the lot I would go for it at X-Plan,,,Take a little vacation with the drive home.I had X-Plan but was waiting forever on my 2006 Stang Gt Premium with manual shacker500 18"wheels Black,,,,But still till this day I am still at C/U even though I ordered it on 07/07/05....
I called a local dearler about 40 mins away.
And they said they will give me the Stang Gt at INVOICE(only $50 differance}
But its Silver {not Black}
Its automatic (not manual)
17" Wheels Steel machine(wanted 18" but the 17" is ok i like the way they look}
Shacker1000(wanted shacker500 but thats ok]
Red seats and all the gauges and all that good stuff......

I might not have got what I wanted but still I am very happy at the PRICE and also LIKE the color or SILVER
The Autos ok and getting used to it will take a little time since i have drove all manuals...
But over all we all should be very happy because FORDs screwing up again like they did on the stangs Gts of 2005s.....Not enough of them........

I did the exact same thing. Tired of waiting for a 6 month order to ever get built, I found one on the internet, different color, same interior and more options than my original order placed. Pulled the trigger last week, and I'm driving down to pick it up Friday night. My trip is a little shorter than yours (about 800 miles), but it was well worth it. Where are you going and where are you bringing it back to?

By the way... the dealership I had mine worked on has 2 05's in their lot... GT's that is (Several V6's).. One is Screaming Yellow and the other is Torch Red. They are loaded.

Congrats on the buy. I thought you could only use the X-plan when ordering the car. I did not order mine but found a GT locally that the lot had coming and bought it before it was delivered.

Made it home to Minneapolis from Los Vegas last night. Not sleeping well, pretty excited! 1860 miles, went through Zion National park, Rocky mountain Nation park, The Black Hills of South Dakota. Handles like a dream, had it over 110 when passing one guy in Utah! Will post pics as soon as I get all the bugs wash off, the car must have gained two pounds!!
