Do you have an oil catch can? It will eliminate a significant amount of that gunk on your throttle body as well as other benefits. I put one on mine when I noticed how much oil was being pumped through the PCV valve into the intake.

Thanks guys appreciate the help, I cleaned it today and noticed a significant amount of oil buildup in there for only 30k miles. I am wondering if this has to do with the oiled K&N filter I have in it. I am considering dumping the filter and going back to a stock paper one. Thoughts on this?

and I don't have an oil catch can, never heard of it on our cars before. I'll look into that too.

If you do decide to install a catch can, be sure to plumb it properly. Most of them come with cheap rubber hose which will collapse under vacuum pressure. Just something to be aware of.

Unlikely that the oiled filter is causing that. If it was, your MAF would have fouled long ago.

The oil catch can goes on the passenger side on the 4.0 and stops the blow by from the PCV - here are some pictures of mine on my Xcharger, on a N/A car the hose would just go into a different spot on the intake tube

This is after about 2,000 miles
