New door subs
#5
They are JL 8W3v3.
Here are the specs: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=27
I had to cutout part of the panel behind where the stock sub was to accommodate the depth the new sub. I patched the cutout with fiberglass at the depth I wanted. However, even with the cutout the new sub had to sit about 1 inch out from where the stock sub was. I also made another cutout behind the door to modify the overall volume the new sub would be occupying. Filled that with fiberglass as well. The subs hit hard and perform much better than I had expected. I still need to go back and add some more dynamat though..
