Default Need Replacement Side Mirror Glass

My wife's mirror glass fell out of her passenger side mirror. Is there a place I can buy just the replacement glass and not have to replace the entire mirror and have to have it painted?

Also...if this is possible...does anyone know how to attach it? The mechanics inside the mirror seem intact so I'm guessing it will just glue in place but if anyone has done it already and could give me the specifics I'd appreciate it.

Yes you can, check on eBay. I see replacement glass on there all the time fairly cheap!

How does the mirror fall out? Is it something we need to be worried about?

They are secured by adhesive to the swivel (that thing that angles the mirror in the direction you want). You can re attach a new piece of glass easily enough to it.

I would try the local dealer/repair shop about what kind of adhesive should be used, but I would be worried about any normal glue (gorilla glue, etc.) seeping into the mechanics in the back and jamming them, so maybe ford used some special rubber cement or something?

The glass is mounted to a piece of plastic that just snaps onto the motor. Did you just lose the mirror or the mirror & plastic mounting piece? Probably have to go to the stealership for replacement.
