Default What Car Cover for 2010 GT500

Does anybody have any experience with Car covers...

I live in San Diego and garage all my good cars.. However friend of mine just picked up a 2010 GT500 and he lives in Tennessee and I am trying to figure out what car cover would be best. He garages his ride most of the time however Saturday nights it is often left out.

There are so many options, types and sizes.. 100-300 however they all seem the same.. The only experience I have is the one I keep on my 78 TA, the stang goes naked, and it caused the paint to blemish on the mirrors..

Does anybody know what is the best for cold weather?

Do you have to take the antenna off to use?

Throw me some ideas please..

Looking for something that is soft, weather proof and will not cover the sub woofers in the trunk when it is put away.. (Any experience is appreciated)

Covercraft make really nice car covers. I keep mine outside and use the Evolution 4 car cover. Just make sure he gets a custom fit one, that way it will have pockets for the side mirrors. You should take your antenna off however they do provide a patch that you put over the area where you make a hole for your antenna. I take mine off and lay it in the trunk.
Most of the best car covers will be a bit bulky so it may block the subs in the trunk. I take mine off and put it in the garage when I drive my stang. I do keep a thin spare one in the trunk for when I'm out.
I think it's Southern Mustangs on here that offer them all the time. I bought mine from Autoanything.com.
Covercraft does come with 3-4 year warranties, depending on what you get. If you keep the car outside all the time the material does break down after while and leaves dust particles on your car. When that happens, I give them a call and they send me a new one.
Just make sure you tell your buddy, he should wipe his car down with either a California Duster or Microfiber Towel with Detail Spray each time he puts the car cover on. By not doing this, you risk getting debris and dirt in the cover which could scratch your paint over time.
I have been using car covers for over 25 years without any problems.
