Default Need 5.0 exhaust help

I am looking to get an exhaust for my stupidly quiet 2012 lol. I want an exhaust that is as loud as my 2010 was (borla stings with o/r x pipe) but not any louder.

I really love the borla S type catback (video below) but I honestly think its pointless to spend $1200 on a catback or $900 for JUST the ATAK mufflers.

I am liking the roush axlebacks (can get them for $399 through JDM) but they dont sound good with an o/r x pipe so I would just use a BBK after cat x pipe to replace the h pipe and just use that setup.

Then there is the Corsa Xtreme's and the Kooks mufflers which both sound great with an o/r x pipe. The kooks with the o/r x pipe honestly almost sound like a Vette which I LOVEEEE!!!! The Xtremes sound really good too, but theres not too many videos up with an o/r x pipe.

All Videos are below and labeled, also if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great! Thanks!

Here's a link to a site with tons of exhaust vids. You'll want to make sure your cache is clear, and you may need to refresh your browser a couple of times to get it all, but there's lots of nice systems to listen to on there:

What about the same setup you had on your '10? or was that the 900/1200 price tag you were talking about.. if not, why not get the same set up if you liked it? I have listened to so many exhaust videos, I cant tell the difference anymore, lol.. like I said in another post though, theres really none that I would turn my nose up to, just preference. Magnaflows seem extremely popular and sound nice.. I have Flowmaster ATs I I like them, maybe if I had to do it over, Magnaflows? not sure Bassanis have a different sound to them. But like I said, they all seem to bleed into each other after a while for me Good luck with your choice!

Check out Doug Thorley Headers. They did my full exhaust. Sounds great.

Like I mentioned in your other thread, get SLP Loudmouths, with some Magnaflow mids, either catted or O/R

PS not to be a dick, but you make a lot of threads, did you know there are subsections of this forum? a GT and a 4.6, and 5.0 section? If you posted your threads in the right area you would probably get better results then the areas that you usually post them in, that is S197 general tech.

Sorry man, but I had to say it..

I liked the sound of my 2010 but the 5.0 and the 4.6 sound much different. The s type on the 5.0 is totally different too. I am leaning towards the kooks or corsa with the bbr o/r x pipe, or just saving a little longer and maybe after the holidays get the borla s type catback (the $1200 catback, not just the mufflers).

Also is it true you 100% need a tune for the o/r x pipe? I was going to do the 02 fouler trick that was on a thread in here recently, but Lethal is advertising that their o/r mid pipes 100% needa tune due to the cat over temp sensors and the car will run richer and will hold back some performance

and mara sorry man I know I make A **** LOAD of threads lol, but I like to just get my answers straight out and I have yet to see a full 5.0 exhaust thread on this forum. and where is the 5.0 section? I thought it was only s197 which was 2005-2012?

Mara I HATE YOU LOL. I never knew about that section I thought it was always this section for the "S197's", nevere knew they made one just for the 5.0's. Now I know why I dont see a lot of threads from 5.0's lol. Whoops

Wow tiger thats actually pretty funny lol. Your fathers car is the one thats leaning me towards the Roush's with an aftercat x pipe. I have now narrowed it down to either of these three in exact order. 1) o/r x pipe with Kooks mufflers 2) roush axlebacks with "after cat" x pipe 3) Borla S-type CATBACK. The reason the borla is the last on the list is cause its $1,200 and while it does sound amazing I cant see myself spending that much money on an exhaust when I can get the roush's for $399 through JDM and they sound similar.
