Default First snow of the season...

welp, it finally happened.

I went out to my girlfriends this morning, knowing it was supposed to snow today, but thought i would be fine since I would be leaving at noon anyways.
needless to say, it's time to go and there's an inch of snow on the ground.
I barely made it out of her neighborhood.
Stopped at the gas stations and picked up about 300 lbs of sand and threw it in the trunk, that helped out aloooot.

Took FOREVER to get home, and had to get into my neighborhood up a hill, I literally went sideways up the hill, only way I could make it up.

Now I'm home, and am switching out my Maxxis summer performance tires with some Blizzak WS70s,
I sure hope they help...or I'm screwed lol.

Yeah, the blizzaks will be a day/night difference. And the car being a pre-madonna around snow is pretty normal lol, I think you'll be just fine with the snows if you were able to handle it decently with just the junk in the trunk.

As for hills, I have a steep slope on an exit road from where I live, had ice one night and couldn't get the stupid pirellis to go up the hill so I went back down to the bottom, threw it in reverse and backed my way up the hill.

I'll post up pics of SNOW for ya lol

You'll be amazed at what a good set of snow tires will do for the GT, especially studded ones. I have driven through some down right insane situations with my GT over the past 4 years of driving in our shietty winters... yikes!

Yeah I dont think i'll be driving if it snows... not even attempting

Last year in my FWD 3000GT I was going down a medium-steep and looong 1-block hill near my parents house. Huge misake, the people who live there park their cars on BOTH sides of the streets, even with ice thick on the ground. I went completely sideways, sliding down the hill, barely missing several cars. Got stuck sideways and used a shovel to reach bare pavement. Scary ****.

The Hankook I-Pike tires looking pretty aggressive as well...

Here in Western Maryland it snowed once back in October but hasn't really even spit snow since

My GT will not be driven in the snow. I just know it would be more than I can handle. I don't know how I ever got around back in the 70's with a 1971 Duster 340 (now that was a hand full). Winter is why I have a GMC 4x4 as well.

I'm glad you made it back in 1 piece lol. I sure hope I don't need to drive in the snow, my college is good about cancelling classes for bad weather. Which was a good thing because when it dumped over the midwest last year you could barely see my Trans am parked on the side of the road... wish I had taken a picture it was worth a few lols.
