Possible new engine swap
Hi everyone
I posted a few months back about my 08 mustang gt having a knocking sound and not much oil pressure. well I took it to my friend who is a mechanic and he told me it was the oil pump. so we replace the pump along with a new timing chain kit. we fired up the car this morning and after a while of idling it started doing the same thing. it starts knocking when the temp goes up to normal. I'm thinking it could be something internal. My next step is to start looking for another engine. the car only has 62k miles on it. Any suggestions?

For putting your car back to where it is supposed to be, the only thing I can think of is ring a 4.6L engine 3V with similar miles on it. You can search salvage yards.
AlternatIvely, you can yank the engine out, tear it down, and rebuild it.
Second alternative: drop in an aluminator! But you need at least $6k to buy the crate engine.

If it is knocking you got rod and/or main bearing problems. Low to no oil pressure/volume can ruin bearings, rods, crankshaft, camshafts, cylinder walls, piston skirts. Knocking can be the death knell of an engine. Nothing else you can do except rebuild or replace.
